About Us
Exclusive Yacht Coatings
For over four decades, Rod Busher & Exclusive Yacht Coatings has been synonymous with excellence in marine coatings throughout Perth and Western Australia.
Over thirty years ago our Managing Director, Rod Busher started Exclusive Coatings painting boats out of a small shed in South Fremantle. As that business grew, he began taking on larger and larger projects. Prior to starting Exclusive Coatings, he worked closely with local superyacht builder, Oceanfast and was able to continue that relationship once Exclusive Coatings was founded.
The early years of Exclusive Coating’s growth culminated in the 61m White Rabbit Echo project. In order to complete this project, the entire team moved to Hobart where the vessel was being built and stayed there until the boat was fully faired and painted. We have since repainted Echo in 2022.
The skills & experience gained throughout that project has served Exclusive Coatings well all the way through to the present day. Off the back of that effort in Tasmania, when we returned to Fremantle we continued servicing a wide array of customers from all walks of life. From aluminium boat builders to local superyachts, we continued with the ethos that had carried Exclusive Coatings to that point and that was ensuring any job we do is done to the highest quality achievable.
A decade after the White Rabbit Echo project the owner’s ambitions grew and we were able to help him with the new 84m White Rabbit Golf and its 50m support vessel, Charley. Fortunately for us these projects were much closer to home, being built by Henderson based Echo Yachts. The impact of these two projects can still be seen today in the local industry and we were glad we were able to bring the Exclusive Coatings standard to these vessels.
We are now based in North Fremantle, attached to the SFM Northport facility where we can paint any vessel up to 22m in our own shed, otherwise anything up to 200t in the dome at SFM. Our comprehensive range of services—from precision fairing and painting to specialised antifouling and emergency repairs—ensures that every vessel receives the expert care it deserves.
